We Use Electronic Health Records, 6/01/2009
Our offices began use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) as of Monday May 18, 2009!
This is an exiting time for our pratice as we will be able to utilize e-prescribing, electronic messaging for recalls, appointment reminders and other state of the art technologies.
Our patients should know this technological advance for our practice puts us well "ahead of the curve!"
Data indicate few doctors have converted to electronic records.
The Newark Star-Ledger (5/24, Rothman) reported, "In New Jersey, and around the country, most doctors still rely on paper records for everything from writing prescriptions to keeping track of their patients' allergies." To date, "only about 1.5 percent of US hospitals have switched to an electronic records system, and less than eight percent have even a basic system, according to a recent study."
